Horseradish is an herb that has a very tangy flavor, offering a sinus clearing effect. It usually makes it's appearance in meat & potatoes types of dishes and sauces like mustard and wasabi. It is an easy crop to grow, and can be grown in containers if you have limited space, or want to prevent it from spreading year after year. If you choose to grow it in a container, we recommend one that is at least 15 gallons as the beautiful foliage that horseradish produces tends to be quite heavy.
Planting instructions: Horseradish is very easy to grow. It needs to be planted about 5" deep, and will really thrive if you condition the soil with a root stimulating fertilizer, we recommend Ferti-lome Root Stimulator. Plant the root crown side up, as this is the end in which the foliage can grow. In the fall, once the foliage is lush and large, dig up the plant and you'll find freshly grown horseradish shoots that you can use to bring a zing to your table.
