That's how the Christmas version of our ‘Johnson’s Jingle’ goes. It’s not uncommon to hear friends sing the Johnson’s jingle since it’s been around for quite a while. I would guess 30 years or more anyways. I remember being a chaperone in my daughter Kristen’s high school class years ago. We were on her Senior class trip to Taos, New Mexico to work on a Habitat for Humanity project. The trip was a great learning experience for not only the students, but the adult leaders as well. With a carload of teenage girls chatting the whole trip, one question I’ll never forget being asked was... ‘Mr. Johnson, is it where gardeners go or gardeners grow in the Johnson’s jingle?’ And you know what? I couldn’t answer that question, and I still don’t know for sure!

That Christmas jingle has become a tradition at Johnson’s, just like so many other things. Poinsettias, fresh cut Christmas trees, Aspen Mulling cider, Fontanini Nativities, Beidermann hand cut Christmas ornaments and many other items. Hopefully, these things have helped build traditions in your home at Christmas time.

I remember my dad bringing home a flocked Christmas tree for the family to decorate. He wouldn’t select the perfect tree; instead he would select a tree with a void in the side and a nativity would go in the area on the tree. The Johnson kids were always fortunate to have gifts to open from Mom and Dad, as well as a few gifts from Santa.

With the year coming to a close, I think we are all ready for a new start. That’s another good thing about Christmas and New Year’s. It gives us a chance to reset and another year to enjoy. I know we are all ready for 2021 to get here!

From your friends at Johnson’s, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Great New Year!!

Your friend in the garden,
